An Android- and Windows-powered laptop? Lenovo has done it – Chaii Pe Charcha

It’s a dream come true for many. Lenovo unveiled what is undoubtedly the perfect 2-in-1 laptop at CES 2024. How do you feel about that? You might inquire. Lenovo debuted the dual-OS ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid at the annual Consumer Electronics Show! It runs both Windows and Android! The gadget is a tablet running Android and a laptop running Windows. It will function like a standard Windows 11 laptop if you use it in laptop mode. But when you put it in tablet mode, it becomes a fully functional Android 13 tablet. How do you change between modes? The screen of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid is detachable. It operates in tablet mode when not attached to the keyboard and in laptop mode when it is.

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU with 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, and a 75 WHr battery while its in laptop mode. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, and 38 WHr battery power the smartphone when it is in tablet form. The gadget has a fourteen-inch, 2.8K OLED screen.

Lenovo revealed that the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid will probably retail for $1,999, or roughly Rs 1,65,000., when it goes on sale in the US in the second quarter of 2024. Lenovo has not yet indicated whether the smartphone will be available in India. , However, it will be interesting to observe how it functions, particularly with regard to the software.

Convertibles and 2-in-1 laptops have long been available in the Indian market. The ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid appears to have quite basic hardware. When you need additional portability, you can detach the display and use it as a tablet. You can even connect the monitor to the keyboard and use it like a laptop. What truly piques our curiosity in this case, though, is a laptop that seems to be an Android tablet when you remove the keyboard yet runs on Windows otherwise. If you’re still not sure why we are so enthusiastic about this, try to picture yourself editing a file in a Windows application. At this point, you should switch the screen from keyboard to tablet mode. Right now, Android is being used by you. We would like to know if you will also be able to work on that project in tablet mode.

All in all, it’s a truly intriguing Lenovo product, and we sincerely hope it makes its way into the Indian market soon.
